We are also committed to how culture affects development and impacts our people’s lives of the world especially Africans and Black Diaspora in Nevada. We are also committed to contributing to multicultural education as well as global studies for appreciation, understanding and world peace.

OUR MISSION:
HISTORY
I.C.A.C.A which was originally founded in Ghana, West Africa was founded out of a desire to Research, Document, Preserve and to Promote African Culture and Arts globally from an African perspective in its anthenticity. As Harold Akyeampong, the Chief Vision Officer says “To Tell Our Own Stories, Challenge all the stereotypes about our great continent and to educate the World about Africa”.
Harold, who moved from New York State, to Nevada few years ago is an Ethnomusicologist, Historian, Dance Critic, Choreographer, Musician, Motivational Speaker and a Teacher.
In Ghana and USA
I.C.A.C.A has undertaken a number of programs that has ensured a healthy development of people, culture and effected constructive social change in a number of communities. These efforts has brought together a number of Ghanaian and International cultural organizations for collaboration on projects in Ghana and abroad.
I.C.A.C.A has working relations with a number of international non-profits promoting global peace, community developments, human rights, culture and music. Among them are the Percussive Arts Society (PAS.Org) USA; the EARTHDANCE International,USA; OBAATANPA House of Hope Inc. New York, USA, Ancient Ministries,New York and African Market Concepts, New York, USA.
In Nevada, ICACA for the past 3 years through its incubator groups i.e AFRICUSSION PERCUSSION DISCUSSION, IGNITE IMPACT, WDCC IGNITE DRUMS, IMPACT AFRIKANA and NEVADA SENIOR DRUM is affecting schools and communities in positive ways.
Harold, the Chief Vision Officer is currently the recipient of the 2022 Folk Arts Fellowship, an award that recognizes the quality of work of Nevada based artists by the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
